Do you remember airplants?

There was a time when they were the must-have accessory for your window ledge or desk.  These tropical plants had no soil, but derived all the nutrition they needed from the air around them, with no need for anything more than the occaional squirt of water to keep them going.

Where do you get your energy from whilst preaching?  Last night I was preaching at a Youth Service, and found myself feeding off the energy, intensity and enthusiasm of the young people  who had led the worship and shared their stories in such a fresh and engaging way. Of course my roots in preparation are planted in the Word, but this ‘live’ exchange of energy is something else altogether.

Has anyone else experienced it?
