A Tweet moment

I’m a great believer in brevity when it comes to communication. If a thing can be said succinctly, with no room for misinterpretation or ambiguity – then there are times when that is exactly what is needed. This is a habit further reinforced by my work with BBC Radio 2, where my allocated time stretches between 2 minutes and 2 minutes 30, depending on the programme.

However, there are times when brevity can strangle the message altogether. A friend sent a ‘tweet’ last night saying that he was on the way into London for a “Past care working party”. Really?
