Jesu joy of man’s desiring

I wrote on Sunday about preaching as alchemy – a process whereby the base metal of the preacher is turned into gold under the influence of the Holy Spirit.  In the right hands, even the most basic of raw materials can be transformed into something of astonishing beauty.  A good example of this is Kenjiro Matsuo’s giant marimba constructed in the Kyushu woodlands. The film below is shown with its original soundtrack – all made by the sound of wood on wood.

I don’t know whether or not Sharp will sell many of their Touch Wood handsets – but I do know I will think twice about describing a preacher as ‘wooden’ again!
